Of course, then they were occupied with livestock breeding, hunting, beekeeping and less with agriculture. When they saw that their land is going fertile and the grass burned almost every year of the scorching sun, they decide to seek for suitable locations which were so many at that time...
Their horses have pointed them in this thought, which running away from Black River valley at summer time go upper in the mountain in the areas called Zelka, Gjurgjishcha, Perun and Tribor, looking for juicy grass. Taking back the horses at autumn Vite saw beautiful plow land with rich pasture, so one autumn he made makjenec - hut in the heart of these high mountains, he spent the winter, and in spring he also brought sheep and cattle.
So Vite settled in that valley and laid the foundations of the present Vitolishcha; the settlement was named after his name..."
Another version of the origin of the name Vitolishte
Regarding to history of the village Vitolishte there is legend according to which its foundation suffered several relocations, and where it is today situated in the beginning - to the settlement, represents one area overgrown with pine trees where were spread rich pastures.
For two brothers, living in a distant village, time has come to separate according to the custom. Once they have split equally whole property inherited from their father, the younger brother had left and settled in the area Opstranica because here he found necessary conditions for the breeding of sheep, horses and cattle, which were mostly practiced. Shortly after he built house and hut.
After a while after his settling in this area, at first accidentally, and then more often he notices that his horses goes away and he can find it after long searches in the area where Vitolishta is settled today. There was no way, he finally accepted the advice of his brother, who also settled nearby with whom he discussed earlier, to move from here and together with his family cattle to inhabit the place where his horses fleeing. So he laid the foundation of today's village Vitolishte.
Later there came a temporary residence and his brother, who brought with them and other families, and thus the new village began to increase. The elder brother, and all newcomers were peasants, although there have moved completely, continued to communicate with his ex village. But it was not for ever. When the new village grew even more thanks to the newcomers among them have developed viable commercial interest when - in other words - their properties began to rise as a result of what appeared envy, hatred and rivalry, courageous of them decided to kill the elder brother who, with the constant moving swings from one swings from the other village, became the reason for spreading the voice that the village Vitoliste has suitable place for settlement.
His murder was a sign of termination of any fraternal ties between the two villages. Since Vitoliste village began to develop independently and to be considered already for master of seats whose boundaries have been determined precisely with executed murder.
It is called Vitolishte probably from the word "vitost" which according to village jargon denoted groveling procedure that was performed against the brother of the founder of the village. so enemy relations between the two villages well continued subsequently.
