Grunishta
In Grunishta's gorge, on the right side of the Black River is located the village of Grunishta. The village is hilly and on the altitude of 800 meters. From the city of Bitola village is 52 km away. Area has medium size, of 18.2 km2. There are pasture area of 1229.8 ha. to arable land accounts 352.6 ha and 190.2 ha on the forests. The village has Crop - livestock function. The settlement is small, as matter of fact, like many villages in Mariovo with tendency of abandoning. There is the church of St. Vmch. Demetrius (1860) in Grunishta and the monastery of St. Venerable Paraskeva (St. Petka) of 1926. According to the stories of olders, village Grunishta is inhabited since 1545, apparently first settler was cask-builder Grujo from the village Grumazi.
